Why This Role Exists

This role exists to own architecture, quality, and delivery.

If production breaks, this person is accountable — not “involved.”

What You’ll Actually Do

  • Own end-to-end Salesforce solution architecture

  • Design scalable Apex architectures including trigger frameworks, async orchestration, and data models

  • Decide when to use Apex vs LWC vs declarative tools

  • Lead complex integrations with external systems (REST/SOAP, OAuth, AWS, third-party tools)

  • Enforce governor-limit-safe design and security best practices

  • Lead code reviews with high standards for maintainability and test quality

  • Mentor and technically lead SDE-1 and SDE-2 engineers

  • Translate vague business requirements into scalable technical designs

  • Own production stability, perform RCA, and drive preventive improvements

Requirements (Core)

  • 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience leading a technical team

  • Strong hands-on expertise in:

    • Apex (Triggers, Batch, Queueable, Schedulers, Async patterns)

    • Lightning Web Components (LWC)

    • SOQL & SOSL optimization

  • Deep understanding of:

    • Salesforce Security Model (Profiles, Permission Sets, Sharing, Roles)

    • Governor limits and bulk-safe design

  • Proven experience designing and owning Salesforce integrations

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD using Salesforce DX and Git-based workflows

  • Ability to defend architectural decisions with clear reasoning

Good to Have

  • Experience working with external systems such as AWS and third-party tools

  • Strong experience in leading code reviews and enforcing engineering best practices

  • Ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into structured technical solutions

What Strong Candidates Do Well

  • Take full ownership of architecture, delivery, and production stability

  • Design scalable, maintainable, and secure Salesforce systems

  • Lead teams effectively while mentoring junior engineers

  • Make clear, well-reasoned architectural decisions

  • Proactively identify risks and implement preventive solutions

  • Maintain high standards for code quality, testing, and system design

What You’ll Get

  • Ownership of end-to-end Salesforce architecture and delivery

  • Opportunity to lead technical decisions and mentor engineering teams

  • Exposure to complex integrations and large-scale system design

  • High-impact role with accountability and influence on product quality

Who This Role May Not Be the Best Fit For

  • Those who equate seniority only with years of experience

  • Those who rely heavily on declarative tools like Flows for core business logic

  • Those who avoid ownership during production issues

  • Those not comfortable designing scalable architectures independently
